Who we are

BG Plumbing & Heating is run by Blair, a sole trader based in Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire. If you have any questions about your information, email info@bgplumbing-heating.uk or call 07584 165668.

What we collect

• When you send an enquiry through this website: your name and phone number, plus anything else you choose to give us, such as your email address, postcode, details of the job and a photo.
• When you call, text or email: the details you share with us.
• If we carry out work for you: your address and the details of the work, for quotes, invoices and records.

How we use it

• To reply to your enquiry and give you a quote.
• To arrange and carry out the work, and invoice for it.
• To meet legal requirements, such as keeping tax records and notifying Gas Safe Register of gas work as required by Building Regulations.
• To register manufacturer warranties on boilers and other products we install for you.

We will never sell your details or use them for marketing.

Who we share it with

Only the people and services that help us run the business or that we're legally required to tell:

• Netlify, which hosts this website and receives enquiry forms.
• Google, which provides our email.
• Gas Safe Register and product manufacturers, when we install gas appliances or register warranties.
• Our accountant and HMRC, for tax purposes.

Some of these providers may store information outside the UK. Where they do, they are required to protect it with appropriate safeguards.

How long we keep it

If an enquiry doesn't lead to any work, we delete it within 12 months. If we do work for you, we keep the records for six years after the job for tax and warranty purposes.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Just email info@bgplumbing-heating.uk. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Google reviews

The reviews on our home page come from Google Maps. Our website fetches them from Google when you scroll to that section, and reviewers' profile pictures load directly from Google, so Google receives your device's IP address. Google's use of that information is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
